A walk around Canary Wharf FULL morning and afternoon

In 1802 the West India Docks opened in response to the enormous growth of shipping in the Port of London . By the 1980s they were closed in response to great changes in cargo handling and the Isle of Dogs became a business development area. We will look at these changes and examine some of the innovative architecture, gardens and public sculpture.

Meet at the western exit (facing the city of London ) from the Canary Wharf underground station on the Jubilee Line .
 
The walk will be repeated in the afternoon.
